Thanks, people, I managed to work it out. In the end, I just went old school: I deleted the image from the drawing! When I tried using the geoimage command, it didn't do anything. So, I just got rid of it.

Hey Folks,

Here's an odd one. Got a set of plans that an aerial appears in, but I don't want it. Well, the aerial is in an xref, it's in a base file. However, when I open that base file the aerial is nowhere to be found! When I pull up the xref listing it's not there! So, where could it be? Any ideas? I need to get rid of this aerial, but there doesn't appear to be any xref, link or other means of connection between it and the drawings. I can't even list it as it's technically in an xref.

Is it the geolocation map built into autocad? In each drawing try the command GEOMAP and then the OFF option.

If it is a geomap they may have used the capture area. If so select the map and if the properties palette says it's a geomap image you can also erase or freeze it.

If it's not a GEOMAP thing like @user181 suggested and there actually is an image of some kind, it must reside on a layer. You could trial-and-error turning layers off/on to see if it goes away.

Open the Xref. Is the image selectable?

To be selectable, IMAGEFRAME=1?

If it’s selectable, what is the description displayed at the top of the Properties Palette when image is selected?

Another option is inserting images using data connect in Map3D. open the map task pane (MAPWSPACE>ON) and see if an image is listed on the display manager tab. you can either toggle the check OR use the DATA CONNECT (MAPCONNECT) palette to DISCONNECT the raster image.

Try setting FRAME to 2. If it is set to 0,1 or 2 it will override IMAGEFRAME.

You can also try the express tools ssx. Type in SSX, it will ask you to select an object, press enter.

Hit E for Entity and type in IMAGE - this will search for all "image" objects.

As everyone else has discussed, there are several different objects that can be displaying your image (geomapimage, image, AutoCAD Map FDO connection.)
