Hi Everybody.

I have a task that I currently do manually: Constructing a curb with survey points.

Here's a simple graphic of what I have and what I need to do:

(#1) 3D Polylines in black = curbstone upper edge (2x)

(#2) 3D Polylines in green = road surface (2x)

and

(#3) 3D Polyline in red = generated by 3D-Offset of the upper front curbstone edge (offset 1 cm towards the road)

Both green 3D Polylines #2 were drawn by connecting survey points and have the correct Z-Coordinate, but wrong Position.

The 3D Polyline #3 has the correct Position, but wrong Z-Coordinate.

That's because the survey points were taken from a Point Cloud which has a lot of distortion and to get the right Z-Coordinate I need to pick a point further from where it actually is, but therefore the Position gets wrong.

What I do is edit the Grips of the green 3D Polyline and move them towards the red 3D Polyline with OSNAP turned OFF.

Is there any other (faster/easier) way to get this done? Maybe by converting the 3D Polylines to Civil 3D Feature Lines? Or anything else?

I would really appreciate any help since this is gonna take like forever.

I think I may have found a solution by myself, but need to be sure it is right.

What I've done:

- Create a TIN Civil 3D Surface with just the outer 3D Polyline

- Set an outer boundary from the inner 3D Polyline

- From the TIN Surface Toolbox choose Extract Objects

- In the Dialog Box select only the TIN Surfaces boundaries

- A 3D Polyline will be created

If that's what I think it is this could reduce my working time by 90% 🙂

Can anybody confirm that the extracted 3D Polyline has the correct Z-Coordinates I need?
