I cannot seem to get the Add Volume Surface to display in Volumes Dashboard. I have two surfaces created and just need to do a volume report for undercut of dirt.

I have tried restarting the program several times.

Thanks in advance.

Just grasping at straws here, did you select the volume surface first in the dashboard? If there are multiple volume surfaces, it needs to know which one to create the report for.

I'm not sure how this is an answer. From the way your question reads it appears that you were having the same issue that I am having now. I have two existing tin surfaces. One design and the other background. I would like to run a report to figure the dirt quantities but when I pull up the volume dashboard, no surface is showing. The list is completely blank and the button to add and existing surface is grayed out. Has anyone figured out how to fix this?

Hi Jason, and welcome to the forums.

The volumes dashboard will only allow you to add volume surfaces to the dashboard, not regular TIN surfaces. You'll need to create a volume surface first and then the button to add a surface will not be greyed out. Alternatively, you can use the volumes dashboard to create the volume surface directly (it's one of the buttons near the add a volume surface button). This is the way I typically do this. Just remember when you create the volume surface, the "base surface" is the surface that was there before and the "comparison surface" is the one that is there after.
