Hey Erik,

You've got Post 8 of this thread (Using Layer Transparency) marked as the "Solution".

"That is weird but it works!!....apparently this program has glitches in it."

When someone searching for information on using layer transparency sees that as a "Solution" they're going to be baffled.

So you might want to un-check your post and check Igor's @igi_pop 's post as the Solution.

I believe some of you saw my other post where I had plotting issues. It seemed as if creating a brand new template resolved that. Now I am having different plotting issues but it seems only when using transparency. Makes me wonder if other applications will cause printing problems as well. Here is a description of what I have done to create this template.

1) I brought in a civil3d template, exploded it, typed in all of my text.

2) I moved all of the borders as close to the edge of the paper to give me more drawing space.

3) Some of my borders would not print out so I systematically moved them farther away from the edge of paper until they all printed.

4) I did have printing errors on the right side of my template(including line, and text) until I slid my line and text farther away from the edge of paper.

5) As you can see when I plot to PDF It shows some of the border missing(I don't know why) but when I print from CAD it does not do that.

6) I am wondering if my changing the borders to gain more paper space could be causing this issue? but I don't see why that would cause text font issues in the middle of my template.

7) At least there are no jagged lines(thank god)!!!

No I didn't scale anything....and I don't know how to adjust print edges.... I actually just created my own polylines used my own layers to control line widths and basically copied (traced) the borders to look similar to the civil3d template. I then moved the borders as close to the paper edge as I could

I have a suggestionn for everyone using transparency.
Plot to PDF and then send the PDF to plotter. I found a lot of plotters (we have HPs in the house) struggle with transparency, and often disobay the "remove blank area" part.
So, i foun that the PDF is a sweeeeeet workaround, and it's not that time consuming 🙂

I apologize Dave, I thought I did. I just read what igi-pop said and under his name I hit "accept solution". Do you mean the post " controlling darkness of an SHX file"? Both posts have green check marks by them, I assume that means they have been solved?? I believe the second post I mentioned I gave you the solution?? I hope I am wording this in a respectful way, I am just not clear on how to do it the correct way?
