While you have the Section Editor open:

Section Editor tab > View Tools panel > Viewport Controls.

Set the "Layout" (on the left) to show the appropriate number of views.

Set the Viewports (on the right) assigning each VP as desired.

Try changing the viewport configuration to show only the PLAN VIEW. Then change it back to showing both. This SHOULD re-initialize the VP settings.

If that doesn't work, change the config to only the Plan view and CLOSE the section editor. Now re-open the section editor and change the VP configu back to showing the section view.

I assume that this is not just at a single corridor section but displays like this in all?

I would try sectioning the corridor, do the sections display correctly? If not you may have a rogue target or assembly spiking to infinity..

Other ideas.

Turn off any Hardware acceleration.

Audit the file, sometimes we get problems with stuff (Duplicate ID's etc) on the Fly - Seeing this more and more in R2016.

please turn all layers on and thaw all layers. (doubt if that will help but something may be wrong).

Adjust the start point of the corridor a bit then re-build it.

Check your UCS settings maybe for some reason the corridor is not correctly aligned to WORLD.. - UCS, Plan.

Otherwise, it could just be a corrupt file. Try inserting it into a fresh template to see if this Fixes it.

Following is a screenshot taken from Section Editor on my PC. Compare this to the OP's screenshot. See the difference between the nav wheels? It appears that the Section Editor is actually turning the VP iternally for the purposes of showing the sections. But OP's VP is not doing this.

Edit: I was also unable to reproduce having the VP not show the grid lines by turning layers off.

I believe my file has been corrupted. I created a data shortcut for the corridor and created a reference of it in a new drawing and the section editor works perfectly fine. Is there a way to promote the corridor into this new drawing?

Now that you've run the Audit command, try closing the Section Editor and re-opening it again. And in fact, I think I would:

Close Section Editor.

Run the Audit command (and let it fix errors).

Save the dwg file.

Close the dwg file.

Re-open the dwg file.

Run the Audit command (without FIX enabled) just to confirm there are no more errors.

If no errors found, Re-open the Section Editor. If it did find errors, go back to step 2 and repeat until there are no errors found.

Just want to ensure due diligence and give my 2 cents. I had the same issue occuring. The problem was a subassembly link targeting a profile and alignment. It couldn't find the profile and was targeting to zero. So my section view grid in section editor was displaying elevations in the 450' ballpark instead of 900'. This seems like an obvious no-brainer, but it was giving me fits so I figured I would share just in case.

We had a C3D 2020.6 user who also experienced a blank Corridor Section Editor, CSE, viewport. After a couple hours of troubleshooting, I noticed that the current Layer was locked. Once unlocked and the CSE reopened, all was well again.

Another Current Layer related issue is the CSE grid displaying with an odd linetype. We discovered that the Section Editor grid inherits/uses the linetype assigned to the current AutoCAD layer. Once the current layer was assigned a continuous linetype, the grid appeared normal.
