How can I create from 3D polylines closed 3D polylines or 3D polygons ?

Hello,

I have 3D polylines (with different z-values) and now I would like to create closed 3D polylines or 3D polygons from these.

The 3D polylines represent 3D area boundaries on the Earth's surface and were originally created from 2D polylines by using elevations from a surface model (TIN). I need for every 3D area boundary a single closed 3D polyline or something like a 3D polygon!

I had already tried to create from 2D polylines first a polygon topology with extracting closed 2D polylines for all area boundaries. Then I had converted these 2D polylines to 3D polylines and then I had set all the 3D polylines to their correct heights by using a surface model. But the result is bad, because the 3D polylines are processed differently. After setting the z-values by using the surface model the 3D polylines are no longer correctly over each other.

I guess may 1st question is what are you trying to accomplish with the plotlines

Draw you 2d polygon
Modify tab>>design>>conver 2d to 3D>> elevations from surface.

Create 3D polygons by first changing 3D polylines to 2D polylines (Z values intact), then use command MAPPOLYLINETOPOLYGON.
