It is highly recommended to not use XREF targets in a corridor, even though the software supposedly allows you to do that. If the internal ID changes for an object that is being targeted, the corridor will remove it without warning. I know you're using C3D 2014, but I had this happen to me when 2016 first came out. I was told by Autodesk that my drawing became corrupt (they don't know how or why), and it kept happening.

You can't change the targeted object except by grip editing. Any other method of editing can cause the object to change, which C3D then won't recognize and you'll have to re-target everything. Unloading and reloading XREFs can also cause issues. That's why it's bad practice to use XREF objects as targets in a corridor.
