Selecting Multiple Objects at once During a Command?

Good Day

I ma running the 'Apply Rules' command and it requires that, after launching the command, I select all the pipes that I want to affect, one by one. I once came across a method that enables one to select one object, then run 'Select Similar' to select all the objects at once as opposed to selecting them one by one, and then run a command while the objects are held in selection. That was obviously a quicker way of doing things. I can't seem to figure out how this was done. Can anyone assist with this?

All assistance is appreciated.

Regards,

Ntuthuko

Hope it works
- select the objects prior to command
- in command when ask to select something press p and enter
when ask to select p means preview selection.
Works for: copy, move, add surface brakelines, etc.

Don`t know if works for apply pipe rule.

When ask to select you can also type all to select all object in the drawing.

Hi Ntuthuko,

Apply rules command in Civil, when it is started, asks to select sequence of structures and pipes. So, you have to select upstream structure and then downstream structure. All the pipes and structures in between would be selected and procedure of applying rules will start. The idea is not to select elements one by one.

Even I think that idea with "select similar" is bit wrong, because I am not sure what about order of selection set. If I well understand the idea of applying rules in Civil, it will function properly if you select sorted set of structures and pipes, from the upstream to downstream one.

Drazen

Can't help with the selection order, but I use the quick select dialog often. It gives great control of selecting multiple objects at once based on their properties.
