C3D 2019 Crashing when changing layout tabs

Hi All,

I am having issues with C3D 2019 crashing when switching layout tabs. I have the AEC Collection.

If a layout tab is in paper space, it seems to switch fine but if the layout tab is in model then it will lock-up C3D when regenerating the viewport.

I have left it running for over half an hour once (lunch time) but seems the only way to fix the .dwg is to then copy the corrupt layout tab (right click, move or copy, create a copy) and this then sets the copied tab back into paper space and then delete the corrupt layout tab.

I have all the service packs installed and have a near new HP Z-Book 17 with P3000 Quadro graphics card.

I initially thought it may be a graphics driver but have tried 3 versions of drivers for the card including the most recent released last 25/07/2018 and still seem to be having the issue.

This is happening on multiple .dwg files and is pretty consistent if the layout tab is in model.

I have tried changing to the "Cache model tab and all layout" setting but this doesn't seam to fix it and they also then don't hold the draw order that well.

I dont really want to do a complete re-install if at all possible so just wondering if anyone has any thoughts or if anyone has the same issue.

Try to audit DWG. If this dose not work try updating video driver.

Hi Dexterel,

Thanks for that, have tried the audit (and also recover) but no errors were found.

I have also tried several graphics card drivers for my card but this doesn't make a difference.

The issue isn't specific to one .dwg and is pretty consistent that if the layout tab is in model then switching to it crashes most times.

You probably installed this driver, but just in case, here is a link for drivers Certified by Autocad.
http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/Quadro_Certified/385.90/385.90-quadro-grid-desktop-notebook-win10-64bit-international-whql.exe

Try to cache the layouts and model, if this dose not work try turning hardware accelerator off, also uncheck all details.

Thanks for that, yes I had tried that driver to no avail.

I had tried the "Cache layout and model" but this also didn't help.

I have now done a "repair" on the install of C3D 2019 and so far haven't had any issues so far so maybe something didn't quite go right on the original install.

Welcome to the forums! Was this behavior happening on all drawings? I see you were able to remedy the issue by doing a reinstall. Did this help?

Have accepted the solution, cheers for the reminder.

It was happening in most drawings but so far so good and hasn't happened since doing the "Repair".
