Generation of Point along the line at all intersection location

Hello,

Need some help to automate the bellow process.

I need to generate the points along the sample line and curb intersection in a sequence as shown in the bellow image. Currently i am creating points manually at all the intersection location.

can i use any lisp or any other method to generate this point faster. please guide me.

Hi,

Design is done in MX,

Setting out is generated in Civil 3D with table, is their any other way apart from corridor.

This is an option. But I'm not sure it would be any faster.

Not much useful, as i have multiple intersection along the line and sequence is prime importance.

what are the magenta markers? if they are blocks they can be converted to cogo.points

alternately MAPCLEAN you linework to break crossing objects. then isolate the sample lines and convert to polylines with MULTIPLE PEDEIT.

now you can run cogo point automatic vertices

This should be fairly easy to do if you have access to ArcGIS or QGIS.

1. add a dwg to GIS that contains only the sample lines>export and create shp1.

2. add a dwg to GIS that contains all the other lines>export and create shp2.

3. in ArcGIS or QGIS, perform a intersection of the two lines shps with output set as points. this will create a point at every intersection.

4. import the points shp into C3D (mapimport), these will come in as ACAD points.

5. Points>convert ACAD points to create cogo points from them.

I dont think Map3D has line to line intersections, only polygons.

Not much useful as i need points in sequence, the lisp generate the point but not in proper sequence. Thanks alot for reply.

I don't use Map 3D a lot any more but the image under Options for Overlaying Topologies in About Topology Overlay

makes me think you might be able to do it with a polygon topology where the objects aren't closed.

Tried the intersection analogy in ArcGIS ............it didn't generate the points in sequence.

This is pretty disappointing. It feels like it would come up a lot, and it shouldn't be much more difficult than doing it at a single intersection. The workarounds confuse me enough that even if I could figure out how to implement them, it would be quicker to click a couple thousand times...

I don't even want to do this along a corridor - the point order doesn't matter to me. I am just making an existing surface. I still can't seem to find a way except for one above my paygrade (so to speak).
