I am trying to come up with a way for my civil 3D NOT to run super elevation on curves with radius greater than 2100 meters, can someone help please am working with a highway of 80 km

You can use a Design Criteria file for this. Depending on how your superelevation is calculated you can set a maximum radius for super.

Here's an example of one that I use often. This criteria sets the superelevation rate from a set of tables - one for each design speed. Notice that the 2000m limit has NC for the rate which translates to Normal Crown.

Hi,

This actually depends on the superelevation criteria used by your organization/region.

However if you use AASHTO superelevation on Civil 3D you can follow this method to edit the criteria.

1. Select Alignment

2. Click Edit design criteria from Ribbon

3. Set the desired values.

4. Do a save as instead of save for safety.

Thank you Jeewana, I appreciate that but how is it going to affect the transition length folder associated with that particular design speed table?

How is this change going to affect the transition length table associated with the modified design speed?

I mean say i modify table for design speed 60, now must i also modify table for transition length for design speed 60 under the transition length folder?

You need to modify these parameters according to the superelevation guideline you use.
