hi,

I'll start by saying im relatively new to SAC. ive made a new sub for road widening which is a bit better suited to my needs allowing me to put the key in an seal overlay etc.

when i attach the sub to the left it seems to work reasonably well on its own however when i attached the C3d built in daylight bench to the outer edge it links to a point somewhere in the middle for some reason despite it being connected from the edge in the assembly.

Can anyone educate me why this is happening? i was expecting the daylight to just hook onto the very edge automatically where i have placed in in the assemble. Ive attached my pkt file if anyone can help me. Cheers. Allan.

after more time than is probably justified i figured out what was causing it. i had the initial value for the shoulder edge set to zero. i hadnt thought this would matter seeing as i was intending on using a target offset for that edge (and was above) but it seems to disregard it for the linkage (only) if you dont have something in there.

If you are attaching in Civil 3D an assembly to point P15 (for example) that was created in SAC but then for some reason in your SAC logic you don't have P15 in a scenario then Civil 3D doesn't know where to alternatively attached the subsequent subassembly that had been attached to P15. You can prevent this but making sure that the connection point number stays consistent between scenarios created in SAC.

weird thing was it was creating the point based on the specified target offset and it was showing in the section editor, just having the default value set to zero meant it wasnt being created by the point the linkage got defined within the computations. at least that seemed to be what was happening. seeing its working now im just going to push on with it.

it does seem to make the model run slow and i am having an increase in serious error failures when i use it for some reason though.

I have created a subassembly with a decision in SAC. Depending on the decision I want to attach a predefined Civil 3D-assembly to a point in my assembly. The connecting point will be dependant of the decision in my subassembly. I have given the insertion point the same number in both scenarios, but the attached subsequent assembly attaches to the wrong point for one of my scenarios. Any tips?
