Hey there,

Sounds like the SUPERIMPOSEPROFILE command is what you're looking for. There is also a button in the profile contextual tab as shown below. The command will ask to select a profile, and then to select a profile view you want to project the profile to. I find it helpful to start with profile views of all three profiles you want to show. If you need more help with it, let me know.

multiple profiles in one profile view

Hi,

I am having some trouble with profiles:

I have an axis alignment with an offset of 17 meters to each side and there are no curves, but angled changes of direction. My surface feature several slopes, so the 3 profiles will be always different from each other.

I would like to be able to show the surface profile of the offset alignments together, but just placing the offset profiles over the original does not work properly, because the axis extension is always shorter or longer than the axis, and in the end of my alignment I have a difference of ~20-30m, which renders the whole visualization wrong.

So the question is: would it be possible to see these 3 profiles (axis+2 offsets) in the same profile view, with the beginning and end of the three alignments being coherent with each other?

I can try to be more specific if needed.

Thanks,

Clrp

Thank you for your answer.

In fact, when I try to use this command civil3D tells me "1 object was of the wrong type. All objects in the pickfirst set were filtered out, please select again'', and it does not work.

Do you have any idea of the reason it does not work properly?

Thanks

Clrp

You can sample the surface(s) at offsets to the center alignment. These offset profiles can be displayed in the profile view for that alignment.
