Create an Mv Block - no dialog box!

Hi,

I am attempting to create a multi view block in C3D 2019 but when using the command - mvblockdefedit, it asks me to select multi-view block, (which there are none) , so i press enter and then nothing. No dialog box or anything. How do i get the dialog box to come up ?

To Create a New Multi-View Block Definition

Click Manage tab Style & Display panel Style Manager.
Expand Multi-Purpose Objects.
Right-click Multi-View Block Definitions, and click New.
Enter a name for the new multi-view block definition, and press Enter.
Edit the new multi-view block definition.
Click OK.

I cannot get past steop 1. ? Is this in the civil3d workspace?

Hi Joe,

My first day back since Christmas.

I think we have to type Stylemanager on the command line. I don't use this. Just found a link to it that I thought might help.

I'll giv it a try and let you know. I dont make multi view blocks either but was intrigued when I saw the post

in true adsk fashion its purely a setup, there is no indication as to actully create one

Hi @aaron047

There used to be a Ribbon button for Multi-View Block creation, I believe it was removed starting with Civil 3D 2018. The directions posted earlier by @AllenJessup are correct but they pertain to the AutoCAD Architecture Toolset!

In any case, considering that this feature is originally native to AutoCAD Architecture, you can get to it when you activate the AutoCAD Architecture Style Manager (i.e. Define Property Set Button on the Manage Ribbon Tab); the trick is to remove the automatic filter that is applied to the dialog box! I have prepared a short screen cast to demonstrate the workflow.
