Hi,

I am having an issue with making layers transparent from an XREF. In this case, it is a hatch that I want to be at Transparency "90".

In the XREF drawing, I have the transparency of the layer the hatch is on set to "50". (I ensured the transparency of the hatch itself in the XREF is set to "By Layer Transparency", and not overridden by any specific value)

However, in the current drawing, when I change the Transparency of the XREF Layer to "90", it stays at "50", and does not change.

It seems as if the XREF transparency is overriding the Current drawing. I do not want to change it in the XREF drawing because I am displaying it as "50" in other drawings that reference it.

For good measure, when bringing the hatch into the current drawing and setting the layer transparency to "90" and setting the Hatch Transparency to ""By Layer Transparency", I get the desired result, which is a hatch at "90" transparency.

Any suggestions as to how to fix this override would be helpful.

Shouldn't matter, but VISRETAIN is set to "1".

I don't know if this will help but have you tried the XREFOVERRIDE variable?
