I'm trying to create multiple section views (SV) that contain two surfaces but am having difficult getting reasonable elevation ranges. I've tried many different combinations when adjusting the elevation settings in the multiple SV wizard with no luck. For example, I've selected automatic and user specified (all options) ranges. The alignment elevation change is only 2 feet (978 to 980) but the SVs have a range from 950 to 1000 which makes them difficult to read. The cross sections also don't have more then a 3 foot elevation change. I've used a vertical exaggeration of 5 but I'm not sure if that matters. See attached picture for screen shot.

I've tried adjusting the profile view using multiple heights and the elevation still starts at the same place, 950. So when I change height to 10 I don't even see the surfaces. I've tried this with the height measured from mean and lowest section elevations and follow a section options. The attached screenshot is with a height of 10 from mean section elevation.

The minimum elevation in all the section views are 950 (see screenshots from previous posts). The sections elevations are around 978 to 980 +/- 3 feet. My problem is that i cannot seem to change the range for the multiple section views (SVs) to something closer to the actual section elevation ranges. Thanks

I am not familiar with the standards you are using in Texas but do you really want a vertical exaggeration of 5? Perhaps you do. Just checking. See what happens if you use one (1).

That would be your Standard_MJS.

Unfortunately a vertical exaggeration of 1 doesn't effect the elevation range of 950-1000. FYI- the vertical exaggeration of 5 was used because the area is pretty flat and i needed to see the surface details.

OK, perhaps someone else may be of some help. It is really difficult without seeing the actual drawing, at least for me. Good Luck! I thought I might be able to see something with just the styles, etc.

Normally I like to just have cross sections in a drawing by themselves. I set the model space scale to either 1"=10' or 1"=20' to plot on a 36x24 sheet using an exaggeration of one or perhaps 2.

Maybe before we get to C3D 2040 autodesk will add the essential missing field in wich we can set the max elevation for multiple section views. It is unbelievable that for over 10 years people keep asking the same question and it's never solved by autodesk.

To answer this: just make the section views and after that adjust them all manually. This is by far the fastest way to solve this. I hope you have less than 100 section views...

I will do this exercise now as well but I am 'lucky' because it's only 25 section views.

btw: I really, really love to be able to see in my properties screen the min and max elev when selecting the section view. Maybe in C3D 2030 it will turn into an editable property Autodesk? That way we can do this insane workaround way faster and still leaves you 10 years to build those min and max elevation fields.

Why on earth am I still paying RIBS for this...
