Tyler,

To answer your question, no I don't know of a built in way, but I did develop a routine that swivels around a selected 3d point. I use it only once in awhile so I didn't bother with refining it to the nth degree. Some drawbacks are; it doesn't include a reset option prompt; and for testing purposes it creates a few 3d lines in the drawing editor for orientation reference purposes. You're welcome to it if you like.

Does anyone know if there is a way to change the setting in Object Viewer that will let you orbit around the cursor instead of the center of the screen? In object viwer, orbit is only constrained around the middle of the screen. To me, it would make sense to have it rotate around the cursor like in model space.

Thanks,

TK

Tyler, I don't have an answer to your question. Although I do have some advice. You might want to mozy on over the main Civil 3D group or the AutoCAD forum and ask your question.

This group happens to mostly answer programming related questions. Just trying to point you in the best location to get your question answered.
