topic Phase out schedule for older cloud versions in CFD Forum

Dear CFD users,

Our product teams are working to upgrade the cloud service infrastructure for CFD and Moldflow to a new platform. As part of this plan, we intend to phase out the older cloud services over the next 6 months. We also intend to provide a new Update to 2019 to connect our cloud service to the new platform and will obviously use this for our 2020 release and onwards.

With more cloud services coming on line for Autodesk, new, more efficient infrastructure is being developed which also has additional layers of security. Data security is a key ingredient for any cloud service and Autodesk has a group dedicated to ensure products are developed with data security front-and-center. We have established standards and audits for our cloud enabled products (see Autodesk trust center). The new platform will take cloud security to the next level.

If you are still using older versions of our cloud services, be aware that we will slowly start phasing these out, starting with the 2016 version. By giving you a phase out schedule, we hope to give you enough time to upgrade to the 2019 or (2020, after it releases) version and minimize the impact of the transition to the new system. Of course you will continue to be able to run local solves for these older versions on your own machines.

Below is the intended phase out date for each version.

2016 release – December 21

2017 release – February 21

2018 release – June 21

2019 release on old infrastructure – July 1 (NOTE: we intend to release an upgrade available to connect 2019 to the new infrastructure well before this time)

I hope this provides you sufficient time to complete running cloud projects and upgrade to the latest version.

Best Regards,

Can we still run CFD 2019 on the cloud (July 28, 2021)? Or is this service phased out ?
