After setting my material (inventor solid part that represents the fluid volume)

boundary conditions set (pressure zero at outlet, velocity magnitude at inlet)

mesh automatic, doesn't seem to be too fine

solver settings are matched to this tutorial: actually I can't find said tutorial now, but it is on youtube and I will update as soon as I find it.

I have followed as much of this trouble shooter that is relevant to my setup:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/cfd/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Error-The-Analysis-has-stopped-because-the-solver-has-exited-unexpectedly-during-an-mesh-adaptation-run-in-Autodesk-CFD.html

This issue is recurring nomatter what settings I have, nomatter how simple the model is leading me to believe that it is nothing that I can influence. I managed to get it to work once and cannot remember what I did, but since then it has failed on every cycle.

I am logged into my autodesk account through cfd, and the autodesk app, and I have the simulation manager and app manager set to run on startup.

It most certainly isn't a resource issue as this pc is a monster (am running the simulation locally) so it meets the recommended system configuration.

I am using a student license which hasn't given me issues in the past.

I have attached a zip of the study folder and the model of the fluid volume in case anyone wanted to try it out and have more success.

I have tried it with a model as simple as a straight pipe and achieved the same result.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times with no change.

Really starting to lose faith with Autodesk as I never had any issues with solidworks simulation software and since making the transition years ago I have had problems repeatedly 😞

If you can solve my problem you have my deepest respect and i'll even buy you a drink 😃 🍺

Hello @chrisjspower ,

You use a version more recent than mine, i can not run your cfz on my end !

What i can do is to recreate your assembly and run it on my computer.
i check your ipart :

is there anything missing on that picture, for example cylindrical tunnel around this device ...

If you can tell me more about your geometry or simply share the whole design.

sorry for the inconvenience
Fred

I'll post it back here as soon as I get home from work, but I don't think
it is a geometry issue as I get the same error message for a simple pipe 😞

I tried running the simulation on my laptop, and with the same config and model it worked successfully, using the same license.

So that must narrow it down to some kind of Windows error?

I'm not sure what to do about it. Reinstalling doesn't fix it, and my license works. Any ideas? My laptop isn't ideal for cfd, and my desktop is built for this purpose but can't run it

Sorry for late reply, but I just tried again and remembered this post.

I installed antivirus software on my laptop, unwittingly, and then had errors with cfd again. Uninstalled and the errors ceased.
When I attempt this with my desktop, I still get the same error. It is a mystery :S

Thank you for your help so far, I will try again with a fresh reinstall of windows, and make CFD the first program, then step through all other standard configuration changes I set to my rig and then come back here with a result for any poor soul who has the same issues.

It may take a while as I currently need it for work.

Thanks again 🙂
