When I checked again, it is CFD Viewer. How do I get the actual CFD software, because I am currently using the education download for CFD and it displays as Autodesk CFD Ultimate. For the actual CFD, am I required to buy licensing for the software, or is there an education version?

I have recently just downloaded Autodesk CFD (2019), but unlike YouTube tutorials, mine can only accept .vtf or .vtfx files. How do I convert a file to a .vtf file? The file I am trying to convert is an Autodesk Fusion .f3d file, and there is not the option to export to a .vtf file.

Hello @643320 ,

Did you download Autodesk CFD 2019 or CFD Viewer 2019?

A VTF file is a graphics file. This is the file type CFD Viewer opens. Such a file can be created in Autodesk CFD.

If the YouTube video you refer to shows opening other file types then it's the actual CFD software and not CFD Viewer.

I hope this clears things up.

Let me know if you have further questions.

cheers,

That is were I downloaded the CFD viewer from. However, I do not see the option to download the actual CFD. There is only CFD Ultimate which downloads the CFD viewer instead.

I'm not sure what is going on at your end but when I go to that webpage and try to download CFD 2023 Ultimate is seems to download the right file as seen in image below. Is that not what you see on your end?

Unfortunately, when I download the "CFD Ultimate", it actually downloads as the CFD Viewer instead. Is this a problem on my end or does the website download the wrong file accidentally?

Hi,

So what you're saying is you do the same exact steps shown in the image above but you download a different (presumably smaller) file?

This is strange!

Maybe you need to try a different web browser. I am using MS Edge.

The reason was that the download had downloaded both the CFD viewer and the actual CFD. When I look for CFD, the first result is the CFD viewer, however, both are downloaded. Thanks for your help.
