Hi all I have an issue with CFD when working with a sphere placed in a box. The simulation solves nicely, but when I want to use the wall calculator CFD crashes. I have already tried to create the sphere differently, but the wall calculator can still not be used. Before I did the box with sphere I tried with a cylinder which worked perfectly without any issues when using the wall calculator. That is why I don't get why the sphere is not working. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions to why the wall calculator will not work for me? Thanks in advance.

Hi @Anonymous,

I was able to replicate your model and I get the same error message and crash that you described. It looks like this is indeed an issue and needs to be fixed. This error arises from the geometry of the sphere. I reported the bug to our development team.

In the meantime I was able to find a workaround so you can get the results you need. I went back into CAD and broke the sphere into 2 different semicircles. The geometry is the exact same, but now it is possible to use the wall calculator on the two semicircles. I tested it and it worked without issue.

I am glad you found this issue and posted on the forum about it! Thanks for reaching out about your problem. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
