Hello,

I have been working on a study for several weeks now, so I have a study with lots of scenarios, and haven't switched off my computer or close the study for 2 weeks I think as something is always being solved...

Yesterday I left my computer on because 2 studies were running on the cloud.

When I came back this morning I had an Autodesk message saying that an error occured, the software has to close, and that I should send a report.

Okay, so after the software closed itself I tried to reopen my study but it is not working: everytime after a loooong time I have the same message saying it has to close...

It seems that Autodesk did a kind of autosave and copy my study (*_support), the file is openable, but there are no results, which took me a long time to get 😕

Has someone experienced that? I do not really have time anymore to solve the scenarios 😕

Thanks in advance for your answers,

Regards

Hi,

support files never include results, thats normal. You probably crashed a scenario. Make a backup copy of the whole design study and try to delete one by one scenario folder (inside windows explorer), to find out which one is broken (usually the last one that was active). Addditionaly there are some methods to recover results (which may not work), listed here:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/cfd/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Unable-to-retrieve-Simulation-CFD-results-after-run-crashed.html

Marco

Hello @Anonymous,

Thanks for reaching out to our Community 🙂

I understand that you are not able to visualize your results on the user interface and you get the error report after waiting a long time.

Did you already make sure to send the report with some details on when the crash happened?

Can you please check if you see the .res files in Solver folder Inside each scenario?

Would it be possible that you share with me the support file?

I look forward to your response.

Thanks,

Hello Amal,

I didn't put too much details with the report..

In the last two scenarios, the ones running when I left, there are no .res files in there Solver folders.

The support file is attached to the message.

Thanks a lot!

So at least when I delete my 2 last scenarios that haven't been solved, I have the results of the previous scenarios.

The size of the study could be a problem?

I mean with all my scenarios and results, the study that got the autodesk error message is 120 Go...

Regards,

Fpingaud

Hi @Anonymous

It seems, as Marco mentioned, that these two scenarios are corrupt. That's why their simulation did not even start (no .res files generated)

It is better that you delete, re-create them and re-run the analyses.

The file size should not be problematic 🙂

Does this help?

Thanks,

Amal
