Why has the CFD 2016 student license not been fixed yet!

I have had the issue where my license has randomly stopped working since the start of October and have had no help from the Autodesk admins other than "wait for CFD 2017" student version to be released... I don't exactly have time for that.

I also now seem to be unable to install CFD on any of my 3 laptops, either it fails at installation or it still does not acknowledge my student license.

This is beyond infuriating, especially with the amount of times i have tried installing, uninstalling, re-downloading, looking for solutions... so far none of the suggested solutions have worked.

If anyone can fix this issue, I would be eternally grateful.

I hate to see your frustration and I empathize with you. I'm not sure what your specific issue licensing for CFD 2016 is, but there are many students who have successfully installed and licensed CFD 2016. Be aware that the student license is standalone and is specific to each computer. Trying to use a license on one computer and transferring it to another should not work. You might need to activate a new license for each laptop if that is your intent.

CFD 2017 is soon to be published to the education portal and the activation and I can personally attest that the licensing for this version is definitely working now as I have licensed it using student credentials on my own Windows 10 laptop.

Thank you for your reply. My main frustration I guess is the fact that I had CFD 2016 installed and licensed with a student license as of October 2016 yet come end of November 2016, I believe the motion license (or whatever allows the solving of compressible fluids) stopped working without me doing anything different. I was also surprised to see that there are many very similar or the same cases for other users around the forum with no surefire fix.

I don't expect to be able to solve this issue as I believe the number of un-install, re-installs I have performed might have completely corrupted the files which is probably to be expected. My workaround has been to install it and use the 30 day trial back to back on my other two laptops which should (fingers crossed) last me until the end of March at which point my work will be close to complete.

I would like to say that I do hugely appreciate the fact that this student license is completely free and that technical issues relating to such things are never easily resolved.

Is there any possible forecast for a release date of CFD 2017 educational licenses?
