Ran into a really weird one today. An assertion failed error. See below:

It seems to be referring to an absolute file path that includes a personal folder of someone called Jenkins? hahaha. I think someone made a programming mistake there.

This error occurred when viewing a model in Autodesk CFD 2018. The zoom function using the mousewheel stopped working, so I attempted to use the manual zoom tool and then the error immediately occurs.

Anyone at Autodesk who can help with this one?

Regards,

Matthew Gent

Hi Matt,

Nice joke 😄 😄 !

Does this error message happen for all the models you open in CFD 2018? Did you make sure to install Update 1 of CFD 2018?

What about your graphic card? Do you have the latest driver installed on your machine?

Thanks,

It would be great if you can provide us with an update regarding this issue 🙂 were you able to avoid it after installing the latest update of CFD 2018?

Thanks,

Hi Amal. Unfortunately, I cannot install the service pack with my current license. My boss has to do that and he still hasn't got round to it. So I can't say whether this will work or not yet!

I know you support guys will be eager to tick this problem off the list! You may if you want. I can always re-open another if it doesn't work.

Jenkins was wondering if you had a chance to apply those flags I shared above to the global settings 😉

I'm not sure if this was ever resolved, but I have had a very similar problem. In my case, the problem was linked to the fact that I had spherical geometry in my model. I had a Brass cube (hear sink), a flattened cube rectangle for a peltier module, and a hemisphere solid (steel) on the cold surface of the peltier. It gave me this "Assertion Error" written by this jerk Jenkins multiple times. When I remodeled a hexagonal nut to replace the dome: problem solved.

I have had this same problem with FUSION 360 as well.

I even retried my hemispherical system after a succesful run on the nut. Jenkins struck again.

I'm getting a similar error every time I try to run In-Canvas rendering. Strangely this only started AFTER I upgraded my machine to a top-line Nvidia P5000 system (and graphics drivers are up-to-date). Ironic.

Autodesk support please help! Error below and submitted several times.
