cyclone separator

Hello together,

does anyone have experience in the simulation of cyclone Separators for sandblast?
+ inlet DN300
+ sand mesh 80
+ 6000m³ / h
+ outlet DN250
I have finished the assembly but I'm unsure, and would like to simulate in cfd

does that work with air and sand?

I have an example in the Appendix

Model (Inventor 2018) is ilogic controlled, everything can be easily adapted!

Hi @S_May,

Simulating a cyclone separator should be possible. Here is an article regarding a possible setup for modelling the cyclone flow.

However only disable "Auto convergence assessment" not the entire "Intelligent solution control".

To analyse the behavior of sand in the separator the general approach would be to use massed particle traces in the post processing stage.
