Otherwise the number that you have mesh sizing tab it's only an approximation. If you using automatic meshing you can except big difference between the approximate number and the real number of element. Howenver approximation with manual meshing is more accurate.

Hi All,

I'm have a problem running a simulation. The error message is: an error occurred during the volume meshing operation. It has also provided a few possible causes. Please see below.

I'm trying to locate the problem. Just want to ask, among these reasons, is there one that will most commonly cause this issue? Just trying to narrow down the issue if possible.. I've also attached my model here. I would really appreciate if you can have a look at the model and see if there is any obvious errors in the model.

Thanks for the help!

Hi

My understanding is that you have here a 180,000,000 m3 volume, which is itself enveloping a 4-level basement of 100,000 sqm. Well, it's not a small model here. It fails while creating volume mesh. Try to debug only with the internal air volume, there is one or two slivers

Thanks for checking the model, Vonkarman.

This is an open parking structure, and what I'm trying to study is using natural ventilation to ventilate the structure, mainly looking at how air moves on each floor.

In terms of the number of elements, it appears to have 5.3 millions elements, which I saw from these lines below:

Just want to confirm with you. Is this the only place I can find the total number of elements? And this requires running the simulation since it needs to generate volume mesh first, correct?

Thanks!
