Shared Folder and Linked Files

How can I create a "Shared Folder" in BIM 360 Document Management and How can I use the "Upload Linked Files"? Thanks you.

First you must have admin privilege to create a team folder in Project Files folder. Once done, there will be an associate Shared folder.

In Revit,you can then link the files inside the Shared folder.

Also, keep in mind that users must create package to update the file inside the shared folder. A publish will only update the files inside the project folder.

I meant was I want to share a specific word file to other users not included in the permission list with the use of the "Shared Folder". And If shared publicly through Shared Folder, can any user edit it while at the same time synchronized the linked work file back inside the restricted/ original folder where it came from?

Oh i see... this feature is asked a lot in the forum, but i dont think it is included yet. To share files with a non member , you better use another plateform.

Yes you can share files ONLY from 'Project Files' to members not included in BIM 360, but the feature has to be turned on first. They will receive a file to download through their email. If they are not on BIM 360, they could not re-upload that file to overwrite the existing.

Then select a file to share.

Thank you, yes we have tried it but we hopefully prefer to use the "Shared Folder" like a gateway or a database of public files without any permission restrictions to any users who want to use it.

You can still share folders, which will share all of its contents, but the recipients will not be able to reload back into that folder unless they have BIM 360 licenses.
