Hi,

I am currently running into an issue where everytime I open a certain model, all of the linked models are repathing from the cloud to my local drive. I have cleared my cache before opening, tried specify, audit and so many other things but I cant get the model to open with the links correctly mapped. I am able to manually remap them but this takes upwards of 1-2 hours as there is about 10-15 links. Then I ran into an issue syncing the model because of this as well. Has anyone else run into this issue and found a solution that works?

It worked fine for the longest time and just about a month ago I started having these issues. So they should be uploaded the correct way.

Yea I have talked with the model manager and a bim manager on our team and they both tried some things but still no solution. The way I open the model is by going to the autodesk docs/bim 360 part on the bottom left of the revit home page. Going to the architect, going to the model and just opening it. I have tried doing audit and specify as well and still the links dont load correctly.

This kind of thing can be tricky to fix. It takes some expertise to drive the Revit bus. Knowing what those few things that were tried would be helpful. You need experienced eyes on this. The fixes can get complicated for someone new to this kind of thing. I’m surprised your people have left you hanging.

Yea it can get pretty complicated. Tried clearing all of the caches before opening, I had the model manager even remove me from the project entirely and add me back and still no change. We have multiple models in the project and all of them open correctly with loaded links except for the single one I am trying to open. I have just had to resort to the manual option but like I said that has taken hours to get the model to be correct and that isnt ideal. I will have to continue my long search for answers on why this is happening and how to fix it. I have read it happening a few times but nobody seems to know an exact way to fix it.

Are other people able to access the same model without issues? If so, I would be looking at build numbers for Revit and Desktop Connector versions to make sure everyone accessing the model is coordinated:

Well, it is a very sizeable model and it crashed after being in it for a while. Then a few others logged into the model and now there links say that is pathed to my own local drive. Really weird scenario and having the model manager work with me through trying to solve this.

Dredging up this old topic. I have a project team that is experiencing the same issue. Links self-remapping to one user's local drive. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? I am currently having her reach out to our consultants (the authors of the linked files) to ensure that they used the Collaborate in Cloud workflow to upload their content. I have confirmed that they were mapped correctly initially.

The solution that seemed to work for our team is to have only 1 person be in the model, remap all of the links to the cloud, sync, and then get out of the model. Then the next time anyone loads into the model it should be remapped. The issue for our team seemed to be that the links remapped to my local and I synced before I noticed which caused everyone else's to map back to mine. We couldnt find out exactly why the links remapped in the first place but we havent ran into that issue since.

Unfortunately we had to do this several times for that project, although the model appears to be behaving lately. We would rather not have to repeat the experience.
