So am I the only one that is confused that Autodesk is pushing really hard this new ACC with new names, new modules and everything, but the support forum and Ideas and all here is in the "old" scheme? And officially you can't even differentiate here between BIM 360 and ACC which now has different functions so from my point of view are completely different solutions? New user/customer that have no idea what BIM 360 is and want to discus ACC is really confused of where to ask/where to go....

Definitely not the only one. This round of unnecessarily confusing rebranding is turning out to be worse than the transition from Teams to Docs was.

While there are new features/advantages to ACC, one monumental drawback i've noticed is ACC projects seem to require all project users to have a docs license assigned to them (or bring their own) in order to access/view files in docs. This may be why Autodesk is pushing it so hard.

I actually have nothing against ACC. Yes I would like more function from BIM 360 to see in ACC, but even with that, I like that solution. I experienced MANY Autodesk rebranding. But this one seems to me the worst yet. It is YEAR after the rebranding started. You can't even order NEW licenses of OLD solution, yet on many levels it seems like there is only "BIM 360".

We started off on BIM 360 two or three months before the ACC launch. There are many features that have improved from BIM360 to ACC. There are however, a few key features that we miss.

I agree with @HGC-Jchandler that a big draw back is the licensing. BIM360 allows you to add members to the team who would never consider buying a license (Many clients and even some Contractors). Members should be allowed to join an ACC project without a license and have limited functionality (for e.g, viewing issues, reports & drawings). This will draw a lot more people to the platform.

We have also found that the BIM360 Mobile App works a lot better than the PlanGrid Build app. I would like to log issues and mark-ups on my phone for drawings in "Docs > Project Files" prior the construction phase. Now, however, I need to activate Build in order to add the drawing to "Build > Sheets" before I can mark it up on site. This means the Build product is activated long before construction commences.

It is also impossible to transfer your project from BIM360 to ACC. This would be a great feature to add.

yes indeed. it sometimes confusing for our IT and bosses.

Even worst, ACC is a little different from BIM360, but just enough too review some of our procedure. some are improvements and some cool features are gone.

I feel we are sometime like guinea pig and have no other options to adapt, because (of course) you cannot go back to BIM360 from ACC.

Similarly to @d.sharp, we have too implemented BIM360 shortly before the launch of ACC. Some issues we have could be easily solved by migrating over to ACC but on the other hand with the migration we would lose features we really like with BIM360.

All in all, it is very confusing to navigate between such similar yet different products. Personally I would like to continue with the BIM360 environment, but I am a bit afraid for the future development, since it seems that ACC is the main focus on Autodesk's roadmap.

Where Autodesk is getting this wrong in my opinion is ‘price point’ especially to its existing customers.

No one would have issue moving on if the price point with ACC based on features we need is ‘better off overall’

That being said - with ACC , unlike Bim360 there is no whole cycle (mass) users and there is absent of whole data development. On the other hand, the same dilemma then applies if people did not have access to other features to connect/trial/use services/features to further develop the platform maturity that Bim360 has come to.

They are largely betting that because you have invested into the software you’ll continue to tolerate with the discrepancies and will move on & pay more when you have to. Segmenting the product selling to construction company with PlanGrid sounds like the right sales strategy. You’ll pay with BYO license when the ‘right’ project comes.

So here I ask - Autodesk, where is the incentive to us the current existing (and loyal too) to move/migrate and even promote ACC ? The price cost for ACC in comparison with Bim360 is heaven and earth for a similar product. Some of the services/features are so integrated which seems crazy to have to choose paying twice or more to have it.

You are certainly not alone.

In my opinion, Autodesk has created a massive web of confusion with the release of ACC. I have done extensive research on the 2 platforms, and currently, Autodesk Docs features do not match up to BIM 360 Docs. One of the biggest downfalls is that the title block extraction has been removed from Autodesk Docs. This feature has been added to the new Sheets function within the Autodesk Build module. And if that wasn't bad enough they have broken the Sheets into different pricing tiers.

While improvements have been added to the other modules like BIM Collaborate / Pro, the main document management platform (Autodesk Docs) is a downgrade from BIM 360 Docs. The only real improvement is the improved control over licensing in your account, for all the new subscription types.

And while you can no longer purchase BIM 360 licenses, all the new subscriptions include access to BIM 360. So until Autodesk clean up the mess they have created, users will continue to choose BIM 360 Docs over Autodesk Docs.

In my opinion of course.

there was a huge step up on ACC coming from BIM360. One of those was the ability of ACC to automatically create a file naming format in Document Management service based on ISO19650. It as a bit hard to adopt it 1st, but once settled, it will be help full for all project members to utilized the shared files by each design authors. I still have an active account of BIM360 so whenever i have some ACC features to study, i still have a chance how was it back then with BIM360. My recommendation, trust more on ACC as this i the platform that Autodesk will keep on developing for the next coming years until BIM360 finally laid to rest.

Seems that ACC is BIM 360 on some level. In Revit, there is no ACC access besides the BIM 360.

It can be a mess if you are involved in different projects between the two platforms at the same time. I have 4 projects on BIM 360 and 1 project on ACC. I must switch to a different account labeled with (ACC) before I can access the projects on ACC on the Revit app end and the process is not so easy. Those projects using BIM 360 can disappear from time to time ever since the ACC project came in. Only the one on ACC can be found in Revit yet it shows 0 projects under the other account using BIM 360.

I'm not really involved in the newly added project on ACC, I was just granted documents license and access to the project on ACC. All I did was keep working on projects using BIM 360, then the newly added ACC one came in and the projects on BIM 360 that I have been working on disappeared, and were not allowed to switch back as the number of projects becomes 0. This problem can be fixed temporarily if I restart the app. I still can work with projects on both platforms using the same version of Revit. Those BIM 360 ones just appeared and disappeared from time to time.
