Anyone else having problems with publishing sheets to BIM360 not appearing?

Did you select the set you want to publish in the upper part of the publish dialog in Revit?

I didn't have any trouble publishing, and the views and sheet loaded up very quickly. One thing i noticed though is that the sheet order doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason to how it is sorting.

Hi Markus,

I would have thought the fact that it was ticked in the lower part under where it says 'include' should be enough? We often dont use sets, so my understanding that you could choose either a set, or the files listed in the lower dialog.
Looks like that is not the case, and we have to create a set each time we publish? Seems like a step not needed.

Nope, not needed to be selected each time. You just need to select the checkbox for your desired Set(s) on the top half of the Publish Setting UI. You can select one of many Sets coming from a single Model, and Sets from multiple models with the same Set name get merged together in Design Collaboration for viewing and Package exchange.

Your screenshot is from Document Management, where someone else needs to comments on the sorting.
Design Collaboration sorts alphabetically within a set that got published from Revit.

So about that....I am going to attach a screencast showing what I am seeing.

You are correct. Those sheets are in the document management side of things. Would still be interested to know why those sheets are out of order there.

The real issue I am seeing is that I am unable to access Design Collaboration in the project I have up there. When I click the button, it takes me to Project Admin.

After poking around a little more it looks like we needed to create and add a team?!?!? That is confusing as hell.

@nbower. The first time you go to the Design Collaboration module it will go to the Project admin area if no teams have been created. Teams are intended for groups of people that need to share design data, but you may have folders you don't want to use for that purpose so we don't presume to use all the folders you create as Teams that show up on the Design Collaboration swim lanes. That being said there are a couple ways you can add those teams. I've attached a screen capture of me creating folders first in the Document Management module under project files and then adding them as Teams. I've also shown in the video how you can create a team in the Project Admin area and it will show up as a folder after you add it. In any case, the final result are swim lanes that match the folders I created. One other note that I did not show is that your team names do not necessarily have to be the same as the folder name. This way you can use a more user friendly name for your team that doesn't have to match a folder than that may have special characters like "_" or something. Hope this helps explain a little further.

What if we've done all the right things and still can't get any sheets to show up in the sets area? Mine just shows a cube with 3D next to it.

Can you send a screen grab of the "Publish Settings" dialog in Revit for the problematic model?

Wait.....Kyle do we still publish through Manage Models with 2018.3? I thought the point was not to use manage models but looking in there I see my models through BIM 360 document management. This was not well documented anywhere.....

Yes, that looks right. Have you published your cloud workshared model lately? That's my best guess as to why those Sets aren't showing up. You can do that in the Manage Cloud Models dialog in Revit, or using the "Update to Latest" button in Design Collaboration.

On the surface it's really hard to tell with this error. Did other sheets print ok and just a few didn't or did they all fail? If you would be interested in sending me a PM with the model name and some additional model information I could take a closer look.

One model have all sheets failed, another model have some sheets published ok and some failed.

I am attaching code copied for these models. Let me know if this is enough.

You can either publish through manage cloud models under the Collaborate drop down in Revit or on the Project timeline within Design collaboration by clicking on update to latest.

the last sheet that shows success in the first text file is SL404 - SHOW LIGHTING - ZOOM IN P4. The P5 sheet after it showed it was in progress but I don't think it ever completed. I wonder if there was a bad character or link or something specific to that sheet that the extractor hung up on. I see on the back end it was trying to process for over 3 hours before it failed. Sometimes that can happen with a bad link or a bad family or element in a particular view that you wouldn't know about until it got to that sheet where it was generated. Are you able to publish locally to PDF or DWF without any issues?
