Autodesk Desktop Connector Update for BIM 360 Docs

I work in a restricted IT environment where elevated administrative permissions are required for this installation.

When the previous update was released, the announcement included the headline "

There's now a unified installer for the Desktop Connector for use with BIM 360. Download the Desktop Connector to get automatic updates" and "With this unified installer, all updates to the Desktop Connector will now be available to you automatically when they are released."

I (naively) assumed that this meant updates would install automatically, without the elevated permission requirement. It is very disappointing that this is not the case.

Even worse, we have only 2 or 3 business days to roll out the upgrade (v6.2.0.674) to 60+ users "to maintain access to all Desktop Connector features" - by July 30, 2018.

What features will NOT be available after July 30?
When will Autodesk follow through on its commitment to provide automatic updates?

Hello Allen, apologies that that previous wording set the wrong expectation with you. With the latest builds of Desktop Connector users will be automatically notified when a new build is available. However there is still manual step to then click the link in the bubble notification and start the installation.

The 31st of July date for updating the current build has been pushed back to 23rd August at the earliest. We are actively looking at how we could better support the deployment of Desktop Connector updates in large/restrictive IT infrastructures.

In my experience, the automatic notification you described has been present since at least April.

We are relieved that the deadline has been postponed.

That's great! We just finished installing v6.2.0.634, only to find that another new version has been released!

Is there a drop-dead date for v6.3.0.692? What enhancements are made in the new version?
