Too many linked files

Hello there!

I am currently developing a system to automatically upload our massive linked Revit models to our BIM360 Docs, and I am running into an issue on the very last step of the process, when trying to make a version of an upload with lots of links in it. I get a 400 error, bad request, with the messafe "Too many linked files" - I have 297 for this particular model, which is the smaller one. Is there a way to upload linked models with more than 200 links (200 links worked) through the API?

thank you for posting this question. It looks you are using this API POST Item

with the payload of refs array, which is demoed in this blog:

I do not hear a limitation with the refs array. I will check with engineer team.

Yes, I am indeed trying to use that endpoint and I have been following that guide to set it all up. I look forward to hear what the engineers say.

our engineer team confirmed the limit is 200. And no additional references can be added past 200. Sorry for the bad news. We have logged the issue and ask for supporting more references. The internal ticket ID is: WIPDM-8676 .And we also logged a ticket ask for updating the API document: FDM-3459

We just hit this limit as well with an automated script. Any news on the two tickets for the limit extension and the documentation update? https://forge.autodesk.com/en/docs/data/v2/reference/http/projects-project_id-items-POST/ did not show any indication of this happening.

@a.schacht, did you find a workaround? Because the dedicated endpoint does not work for us.

Unfortunately no. We abandonded the idea at my company long ago, so I haven't looked into it since then.
