topic Find Attribute When Multiple Nodes Have Same Attribute (Bifrost Rig) in Bifrost Forum

Hello,

I'm encountering another challenge when it comes to creating a custom Maya bifrost rig module. I'm working on a straightforward space switch (a "follow parent" switch) for a rig. Many controls on my rig have this "follow_parent" attribute, so I have to use "find_all_attributes". I unfortunately have to pass all of Animation Inputs to it and have no ability to filter by tags. I also have no way to know the attribute index, because I might have 3 controls in my module but only 2 will have this attribute. That means I can't use the "Found Index" int returned from Find Transform.

Does anyone have any idea around this? The rigging modules in Bifrost are close to being cool but there are some things like this (and the lack of being able to add a string attr with define_attribute) that make it really cumbersome for me.

Ben

Hey Ben,

There is not a way to filter yet as far as I know - you could try this - it should not be expensive

Hi, thanks for the response. I'm currently attempting to use the "Custom" object type and "set\get_property" to pass other information (like pin transforms) over to the Animation part of the module. I'll try yours as well.
setting them in user_setup and then connecting this to the "Custom" object in "set_definitions"

attempting to get those values in user_animation, but they are the default values

Ben
