Is the installation of Trueview in Citrix possible and/or supported? I can't seem to find any documentation or support for it. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

TrueView is not supported on Citrix XenApp or XenDesktop. Using Citrix XenApp requires the purchase of a Network type that includes an a End User License Agreement addendum granting the legal privilege to self host the application with Citrix Self Hosting. Otherwise it will violate the End User License Agreement.

Is so what type of "Network Licensing" is requird? or just contact a account manager?

With the recent Citrix Ready release of Autodesk Revit 2012 and additional Citrix Ready AutoCAD verticals I have asked the product managers about this. This information is based on their response and technical information known to us here at Autodesk:

Autodesk Trueview:

Using Autodesk TrueView on XenApp or XenDesktop is not a violation of the end user license agreement.

Autodesk TrueView has not been tested on XenApp or XenDesktop. It is therefore not supported on XenApp or XenDesktop.

Users have reported successful implementation of Autodesk TrueView on both XenApp or XenDesktop.

Autodesk Design Review:

Using Autodesk Design Review on XenApp or XenDesktop is not a violation of the end user license agreement.

Autodesk Design Review was tested on XenApp 4.5. Autodesk Design Review has not been tested on XenApp 5.0 or 6.0 and is therefore only supported on XenApp 4.5. Autodesk Design Review has not been tested on XenDeskitop.

There should not be any problems using Autodesk Design Review on XenApp 4.5, 50, or 6.0. You may need to use the post install scripts to configure additional users.

To continue this thread...

Dear All,

We are runing a Citrix environment consisting of Windows 2003 Servers and Presentation Server 4.5.

I have been trying to install and configure DWG TrueView 2012 for my customers in house:

DWG TrueView installs fine and I am able to run it initially as an administrator. Now when I run the application on a published Desktop or published application for my cutsomers I experience an issue. On intial launch the application attempts to perform an mini configuartion update. It downloads a large amount of data files into the users profile and updates user hive of the registry (no big problem here). Unfortunately it also appears to install information into the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT of the registry hive which needs admin rights. The application exits immediately and I get an error to say user to not have sufficient access rights.

Has anyone managed to circumvent this problem or is there installation or configuration guide for Terminal Server available?

Thanks in advance

Mark.

Hi Mark

I don't know if you're still trying to get this to work but I've used the following post from DanS_Carte with great success in the past - if you've got lots of users then you'll want to script it. I've used this with Server 2003, PS4.5 and TrueView 2009 and it works fine. I haven't tried it with the latest version of TrueView but hopefully it will work.

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/DWG-TrueView/Multi-user-useage/td-p/1545195

Cheers

Phil
