If you are married to only using the Autodesk ACCESS tool, you'll want to get in the habit of downloading the latest version manually yourself monthly or quarterly from the website before you use it (restarting your PC afterwards is always recommended). It is a work in progress and they have opted into a very odd "limited release" update method where not all of us get the latest version automatically at the moment of release, so there is that reality to contend with.

OR... as @Simon_Weel noted, when you think you have an issue with your software that a restart of the PC does not resolve, or on a quarterly schedule, login here and check for software updates to install

https://manage.autodesk.com/products/updates

I have had this issue for some time but now im investing some time to solve it.

Autodesk access shows available updates for software that is no longer installed. I have followed directions for removing the registry keys, used windows troubleshooter and still i got the same list of software updates for uninstalled products.

There was one thread to clear cache by deleting a folder in the appdata, but, i think it was for the autodesk desktop app. There is not folder with the same name anymore.

Is it possible to solve without uninstalling everything and how?

Autodesk Access isn't of much use at the moment, IMO. So either ignore or uninstall Access. You're better off checking your Autodesk Account for updates every once in a while?

You never know what you gonna get and when you gonna get it. Let's hope Autodesk doesn't adopt the Microsoft quality assurance, where the first machines getting an update also act as beta testers....

You make very good points. I was not aware of the "state of the art" for autodesk distributions. This was all very usefull information.

About the products, they are 3D Plant and Autocad MEP, but have been uninstalled over one year ago. Its just anoying. I think im going to "divorce" Autodesk Access and recomend my coleagues about the same solution. Thank you all.

It's an incorrect assumption that you need to be on the latest version of Access. We release new versions on a monthly basis, and sometimes we skip a month if we want more time. I think you'll find that monthly is a fairly modern approach for a desktop product. If there is a critical update that you need, we will push it out to all users, as we have done in the last month with 2.6.

As for its usability in your environment, that's a personal choice which you are free to make, but it is not applicable to everyone. We're seeing quite good adoption rates, and users are 4 times more likely to install an update via Access than downloading from Account. You are by far in the minority of users with issues.

This particular issue is one that we are aware of related to an older installer at the time it was uninstalled, unrelated to Access itself, and we are being cautious about touching registry entries (as noted in the article above). @nuno_wallnut if you can collect the logs for us and send them to me, I will take a look and provide instructions on the registry entries to remove.

Hi Danny,

I'm having the same problem with Access. Even though I have had "AutoCAD Mechanical 2022" uninstalled for a couple years now. An update for it keeps popping up in Autodesk Access. I have tried to manually delete the "UPI2" entries that still had AutoCAD Mechanical 2022, and reboot, but the problem still persists. I have the logs collected and can send to you privately if you are willing to look.
