Updated to the new Autodesk Access app hoping it would be a step in the right direction to only show updates for products that are out of date and installed on any particular machine. I was in for a huge disappointment when I see that it is showing all updates for my programs even after I'd updated them. It doesn't seem to know what is updated and what is not. Just shows all updates available.

Why push so hard to release an unfinished product? As OP said, the available updates listed (only 2 listed on the machine I'm trying to update right now) are incomplete and not correct. In this case it's listing the Revit 2023.0.2 Hotfix when I recently installed the 2023.1.1 update.

A lot more testing should have been done before release. At least with ADA we know what to expect.

Another fun fact: There's no uninstaller, so at least right now we can't go back to ADA.

From what I gather from Autodesk that had to replace ADA asap due to security issues

Even if you went back to ADA autodesk has since stopped the app from functioning

Must have been some serious security issues to roll out an app that:
- does nothing but list available updates,
- has all the problems that desktop app had (list installed updates),
- does not contain proxy settings or any kind of settings,

- uninstalls Desktop App which worked poorly in the last year, but worked,

- is unable to uninstall.

Hi all, thanks for the feedback. We’re finding some data issues that are causing inconsistent display of updates. Nothing wrong with Access itself, just some backend data cleanup needed. I understand and appreciate that the distinction doesn’t matter to you though. But, you can help us!

If you can run the log collection tool, and post a new thread with your expected and actual behavior, that would really help us track down these issues. We are aware of some Revit issues and are working with them to correct the data, but please post anyway.

Thank you for trying it out and helping us resolve some of these data issues.

Same here!

I installed the new app because of error messages in the old app, but now in the new app:

- only 1 update is listed, the Revit 2023.0.2 hotfix, but I have newer version installed

- all the other updates are missing!

Hi Danny,

Found this thread and have run the AutoDesk verification tool as suggested. My issue is a persistent update suggestion for AutoCAD 2023.1.3.

I've gone through anbd thorough removed any reference to the 2023 version since updating to 2024 more than a week ago. Can you see anything that might be promting this. Maybe your suggestions and insights can help others in a similar situation to my own.

I just tried uninstalling and reinstalling AutoDesk Access. But the erroneous update is still coming up same as before. There must be a registry entry thats triggering it perhaps? I previously saw a AutoDesk knowledgbase article for Desktop Manager that suggested deleting the contents of one or two folders (SDS???) to eliminate the problem. This folder no longer exists on my machine so I can only sumise that AutoDesk Access doesnt use the same sort of data.

Meh, I give up Autodesk. Aint nobody got time for that!

Access is showing me an update for Architecture 2023 while I am running 2024.

Seems a step back from the App that it replaced

Had to check the post date on this before responding. As desktop app is no longer supported, access is the only way to manage updates other than manually tracking and installing each update for each software. All current users are forced to use access. We're not 'early adopters' by choice.

Is there a different way to manage software updates other than manage.autodesk? If so, that would be very helpful information.

No user-action required.
