Updating through Autodesk Access

Simple question: how did this issue carry over from the Autodesk Desktop App to Autodesk Access?

Latest annual release is installed, and Autodesk Access prompts me to install an update for the previous one.

I like to keep my system up to date, so as soon as that little red dot in the bottom right corner of the screen shows up, I'm updating whatever that has an update for it. I don't neccesarily do much more than looking at the icon and hitting the update button at this point, which makes it quite annoying when updates I don't need, for products I've uninstalled, or never opted to install in the first place, start showing up. To be fair, Autodesk Desktop App was comparatively worse as it had two-three more entries in the list than what Autodesk Access has, but still...

Peculiar enough this problem appears to be closely related to AutoCAD, as every entry of this kind that I've ever seen over the past couple of years has in some way or another been related to AutoCAD directly or to some add-in the AutoCAD installer never asks if I want installed in the first place...

I'm not sure if the fault lies with one or more Autodesk products, or if it's an inherent issue with Windows 11 not entirely removing all of the registry entries when uninstalling an Autodesk product, so if anyone have figured this out and have found a solution, I'm greatful to hear about it.

Don't rely on Autodesk Access for updates - check out your Autodesk Account page and hit Product Updates every now and then.

Yeah, I know...But with Autodesk being the company it is and selling the kinds of products they do, you'd think they'd make sure their stuff works as expected before any of us sees it, which they otherwise mostly appear to do. I get that this little utility probably isn't at the top of their list of priorities, but when they go through the effort to replace it with a new one, with a new name, intended to do the exact same single task as its predecessor, you'd expect them to at least iron out the issues that were already there before releasing it...

You'd think. But alas... .

My personal hunch: ACCESS fixed a potentially giant problematic hole in the DesktopApp, big enough it needed an immediate rewrite, and it was only discovered so late in the game they threw this out at us half-baked.
