topic Library Catalog & Spec Editor Match Default Shared Location? in AutoCAD Plant 3D Forum

New to Plant 3D and having an issue.

I was 1 of 1 drafter using Plant 3D and building specs for the company I work for.
All custom parts were built by me and stored in my Local C:/ drive.

We added a 2nd drafter who we would like to have access to my custom parts on shared location on the network.
I created a network folder and copied all of my local contents into it and he is now able to use them.
When we're in a project and right mouse click "edit spec", the spec editor default location is pointing to the network, but the catalog is defaulted to our local C:/ drive.

Is there a way to default our Catalog Editor to the shared folder on the network without having to close the Local Catalog file and open the Shared file each time?

For reference, I did the "run as Admin" and changed my "Modify Shared Content Folder" to the network, but it still defaults to my Local drive as well as "PLANTMODIFYSHAREDCONTENTFOLDER" in CAD as an Admin. I'm not sure if this is separate & unrelated to my current issue or not.

Thank so much, I was able to successfully get my computer to register both Spec and Catalog to access the same shared folders, but for some reason my other drafter, opening the same files on the network, is still showing the catalog being opened from his local C:/

We purged the cache files as the link described and ran the .EXE, to no avail.

One thing we have not done (because we're trying to contact our IT) is when we "run as admin" and change the path of his shared content folder under TOOLS, its still pointing to C:/ and our Shared Network drive is not being displayed. So we're going to get that resolved and hopefully this will fix his issue.

Does this seem plausible? Or could there be another reason why his PC isn't registering it like mine is, despite us accessing the same network file?

BTW: I used to work at KPE a few years ago back when Neal and Chuck were the Piping Managers and always admired your tech savvy. I was really pleased to see how much of a guru you are on these forums! Thanks so much for all the help Jason!

I would try renaming his local catalog temporarily. This will force Spec Editor to ask him to specify which catalog it should point to. Afterwards, you can revert the name.
