Is there a way to add a prefix to the Automated Layer and Color assignment on the Piping settings similar to the Pipe Support Settings? I would like to Assign layer by "Line Number Tag" and add a 2 letter prefix with a dash before each line number.

I would like to add 2 alpha characters then a dash before the line number in the Layer and Color Settings of the project so that it will show up in the layers. Where I have layer 01, I would like it to say layer DP-01. You are able to do it with the supports and am hoping to do it with the Assign later by area too.

This is achievable with PLANTDEFINECALCPROPERTIES.

I assume you want to assign the prefix by line number but you can do it by component also.

1. Create a new Plant 3D Line Group level property (mine is a picklist):

2. Create a property in Pipe Run Component that acquires from your new line group property:

3. Create a PlantDefineCalcProperties prop that combines the prefix with the line tag:

4. Set the layer assignment:

I have done the steps you have listed and it only changes to the prefix and does not give me the line number.

Change your PLANTDEFINECALCPROPERTIES prop to have single quotes instead of double. Also, the screenshot also shows unassigned line tag.
