Hi,

Is there anyone of you who knows how to clip views while on 3D modeling? clipping views that we can easily adjust whatever we want to hide parts of the walls or part of equipment's so that we can have a better view in routing pipe, measuring certain distances and can minimize the graphic size a 3D model while working on it. Sort of a "SECTIONING" command on navisworks. Thank you

As @h_eger states, there is no true volume clipping in AutoCAD. However, you can make use of XCLIP (for xreferences) and 3DCLIP (for current model items) to do some limited clipping functions.

This is a neat implementation but not a true clipping box. It uses a combination of XCLIP for xrefs and PLANTISOLATE to turn objects on/off. Drawing resident objects (not xrefs) can only be set as visible or invisible rather than truly clipped. Xrefs do actually get clipped with the XCLIP functionality.

That said, it's a very nice combination of existing commands and could be really useful. Kudos to the developer for thinking outside the box (pun intended 😜).

Any update about this? It would be very nice if Plant 3D had a view clipping tool like Navisworks.
