such a function is not supported in Plant 3D P&ID. What is this actually about in the P&ID construction?

This is specific to creating P&ID in Plant 3D.

Using the P&ID PIP pallete group

I create a primary line segment across the page.

I go to Fittings and add a Flange connection in the middle of the line.

See Image 1.

If I try and insert a mating flange, at red point I get Image 2 and Image 4. I had like 5 other images trying to insert at different points. Nothing gets me what I want.

Image 2 seems like the best choice. I insert, it does that nonsense, I then rotate it -90 degrees. But this only works on the vertical application. The rotation point on a horizontal line makes it so it is best to copy and paste a set of flanges from a vertical run.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

So I wanted to show a flange set. If I insert a flange in a line to represent a break for removing a motor or other equipment, I like to show both flanges.

Or at the end of a line. Normally we show a flange. Which works as normal, but sometimes we provide a mating flange. Again I would like to show that so that it is assembled as such.

I work elsewhere so not an issue anymore, but someone else might have this issue at some point.

I did solve this by making my own block. Which just inserted a flange set and a break.

Good solution mate, I'll create a block as well. Spec break and flanged connections for maintenance purposes are something used regularly in the industry, I know that every software needs some sort of customisation but this could have come as standard in the pack. Even trying to connect 2 flanges face to face is impossible
