Branch tables with multiple fittings, can you route with something not default?

"You can add more than one fitting to a branch table cell. In addition to default parts, you can add additional parts to be available when routing and branching pipe."

Uh, can you though?

In my experience routing 3D pipe, the branch only gives you one fitting to choose from... is there a way to select another fitting on the branch that is not the default while routing in 3D?

The FAQ seems to say it should work this way...

Video is attached, routing a 4" X 2" branch. Can someone enlighten me if there is a way to route the SOCKOLET instead of the STUBIN while routing?

The easiest way is after you have drawn the branch from the main line, please read in the command line which options are possible.

@h_eger, none of these options allow you to change the branch fitting? Would you kindly take a look again, your comment isn't relevant to the question I'm asking.

pipeFitting - change fitting on next pipe (doesnt work on the branch fitting, and you can't choose olets from here)
Size - change size
Specification - change spec
Plane - change plane
Cutbackelbow - allow trimmed elbows
Rollelbow - allow rolled elbow
Stub-in - change connection to stubend
pipebend - change to use pipe bends instead of elbows
Elevation - change routing elevation
routingOffset - offset from bop, cop, top
baseComponent - measure from different base component for piping

Dear @geomontgomery4157 ,

But your branch list only shows you the restriction which parts can be used as branches.
If you click on pipeFittings or type an "F" in the command line, the selection window opens in which the Olet your Sockolets are displayed and you can select them and place them on the main line.

@h_eger , I would suggest you try it yourself as you will find out that it is not possible to modify the branch with a different fitting using the pipeFittings command.

Please be thoughtful and read my response before posting a reply. In my previous response I stated:

"pipeFitting - change fitting on next pipe (doesn't work on the branch fitting, and you can't choose olets from here)"

It is simply impossible to select olets as an option through the pipeFittings command. I encourage you to try it yourself and find out.

Besides this not being a solution, there still seems to be no way to toggle off the default "Branch" fitting when modeling branches. Why does the user have the option to set branch priority then, if it does nothing?

Sorry it was my mistake.
So there is only the manual insertion of the socket on the main line

This doesn't help your situation, but the branch priority means that the first 'working' branch will be used. This way you can have SW, THD, BW, Tee, Red Tee, etc. in the same branch cell. The first one that works with the connection settings will be used.

I really hope Autodesk EXPERT ELITE people are not judged on responses to topics, because if this is your KPI it is severly lacking.

If there is an answer, I would like a real "NO", "YES" or "HOW TO". I'll hold judgment on this ticket, but it's very jarring on the responses I've seen on this ticket.

One last thing, @h_eger has answered more questions than anyone on this board - by far. Everyone gets one wrong now and then. I recommend that you use paid support going forward. That way your dramatic complaints will be received more seriously.

Thanks @jabowabo , This thread can die now. If @h.eger has answered questions to the same quality as he has this one, then That's all I have to say. It's clear that Autodesk's "support" does not actually support. I have not received an actual answer to my query. Please respond with actual answers if you have something to share, instead of responding on the ticket with nothing.

anyways anyone who are posting to forum should not be so demanding, respect and appreciation is a must, we should be thankful that there are others who give their time to answer are problems/questions(most of the time dumb questions like mine haha), but still they are responding, even though they are not paid doing so.

The way to go with this one is set first the sockolet as priority one o nthe branch table. Then as @h_eger when routing the branch select "S" for the size and change it the branch size i.e (1") etc.
