Hi,

I think that the clue is in your first screenshot.

The pump must be positioned at the correct WCS coordinates in the reference drawing. The reference drawing must then be xref'd in to your piping drawing at 0,0,0 with 0 rotation and a scale of 1:1.

Regards,

Andy

hi Guys

i created a pomp by importing a block from a cad library. i ccpnerted it to a vertical pump.

then when i xref it to my pipig model and use the plantpipeadd command, it doesnt carry out the flanged connection? see screen shots

thanks , got you

but what if some where during the project design, i need to change the poisition of the pump with respective to my structure or due some other reasons such as existing piping connection, then what shall i do ?

Hi,

You'll need to reference your structure drawing (and/or piping drawing) into the pump drawing (as an Overlay) to see the position of the structure and move the pump as necessary. You'll then need to update your piping model.

It's all about the xref's - but use the Overlay option to avoid circular references.

An alternative would be to create a simplified placeholder object to represent your pump (use Create Equipment) in your piping drawing and add nozzles to this placeholder, you could then reference your pump drawing in as a dumb 3D model over the top of the placeholder to create a more visually realistic model.

Regards,

Andy

Dear @kamel.rhilitz ,

this is our daily business.

Changes to the structure and the associated changes to the equipment arrangement are implemented and the Ruhr pipelines are then adjusted again.
It has not happened to me in the last 35 years that we did not have any changes in the course of a planning order.

I'm still waiting for this project 😂

i consider myself new on plant3D, i used to work on E3D

and most of the projects i m working on right now are small systems such as a master meter system with few spools and few equipments.

the issue i m facing with plant is mainly when i want to root threaded lines.i m trying to have a better understanding of how plants thinks....

How Plant 3D thinks should be learned in every Plant 3D training course. So I do this by dealing with the work situation of my customer and thereby aligning my school policy accordingly.
A little patience should be used as you do not learn the complexity of Plant 3D in 5 days. (as with E3D)
