Topology query

Hello!

I have a problem to find how to query a plygon based topology with a polyline based one.

The plygons are property areas, and the polylines are the planned optical networksm and we wanna know what properties are affected.

If you are starting with these:

Parcel POLYGONS in shapefile format
LINE shapefile representing your proposed optical network

...then you can accomplish this using MAPGISOVERLAY. For ribbon, go to Analyze Tab=>Feature Panel=>Feature Overlay Icon. Image-1.

1-Enter MAPGISOVERLAY on command line or use the ribbon.

For your SOURCE, select your line shapefile from the first dropdown. For OVERLAY, select your parcel polygon shapefile from the second dropdown. For TYPE, select intersect. Click NEXT to continue. Image-2.

2-Select SOURCE, OVERLAY and TYPE.

In the next window, the LAYER NAME will be an output shapefile that will be created from the intersect operation of the proposed line and parcels, it will default to the folder shown under OUTPUT section. Click FINISH. Image-3.

3-Select folder location for your output file. You may leave other setting at their defaults.

Turn off (uncheck) the Proposed Optical Network LINE to clearly display your newly created output, the intersection result. Image-4. Go to TABLE view to see the results in tabular format. If you wish, you may copy from the table and paste to a spreadsheet.

4-Select the output layer in the Map Task Pane, then click Table icon.
