Connecting a *.gdb file

I am trying to connect to the attached *.gdb file in my hard disk. Having difficulties. Opens in other GIS application (QGIS).

Is there anything I can do to get this to Map 3D for further work?

what version of Map3d are you using? 2019, 2020?

I've heard you can use MAPIMPORT to bring a GDB file into Map 3D, but I've never been able to. I tried just now in 2020 version--no luck.
What I do is open in QGIS, then save as a SHP, which you can easily import into Map.

I did connect with Map3D 2020 with no problem.

Add ArcGIS connection

file /personal GDB tab

FGDb button and select your .gdb folder

Connect

Select DS_Stormwater

add to map

I am using Civil 3D V-2021. Map 3D is embedded as "Planning and Analysis" workspace.

Hi,

On my Civil 2021, connect button does nothing.

I think that ESRI licensed product (ArcGIS) is necessary to connect to ArcGIS data even to FGDB

@parkr4st do you have ArcGIS product installed on your PC?

ArcGIS licence is required only for Enterprise or ArcGIS online. FGDB, PGDB files that reside on your hard disk do not need an ArcGIS licence. Because, if you had an ArcGIS licence why bother with Map 3D? You can as well work directly on ArcGIS !!!!

Wonder why some one from AutoDESK is not addressing this issue.

If I've well read information from Autodesk, FDO ArGis provider is the same to connect to ArcGIS and FGDB and this provider needs ESRI license : https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-map-3d/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Which-product-of-ESRI-need-to-be-installed-to-Client-to-use-FDO-ArcGIS-provider-in-Map-3D-or-Civil-3D.html

If you're running ArcGIS, then you can do this?

From Data Connect Palette=>Add ArcGIS Connection=>FGDb button
Drill down to your geodatabase FOLDER=>OK=>Connect
Select your layers=>Add to Map

1-From Data Connect Palette, select FGDb

2-Browse to your FOLDER that contains your GDB.

3-Check your layers=>Add to MAP

If you don't have ArcGIS then you can ask a colleague to open the gdb in Arc Desktop or ArcGIS Pro (or QGIS) and pull the Feature Class out of the gdb. The feature class can be saved as a shapefile. You can then connect to (or mapimport) the shapefile in Civil3D/Map3D

I'm looking at your uploaded images, specifically Browse for Folder image..........try drilling down one more folder. Then OK=>Connect.

I think it's as Olivier says, gotta have an ESRI license.

OK, I see. Then you'll need to use 3rd party software, e.g. QGIS, Arc Desktop or ArcGIS Pro, etc. to read the gdb then pull the Feature Class out and save it as a shapefile. The gdb connected using M3D's Data Connection is shown below with Bing Hybrid.

Connected to FGDb. Site is on 33 Street in UAE.

This is not working.

There are suggestions that you should have a license for ArcGIS in order to connect to an FGDB file residing in a local hard disk. This defies logic as, if I have ArcGIS, why should I use Map 3D?

Same issue here. I've got civil 3D 2020, and ArcGIS Pro installed. when I click "connect" nothing happens. no warnings, no nothing. The .GDB opens just fine in ArcGIS Pro. We are working on creating way to keep all our survey boundaries in one large database, but need to make this easy for the surveyors. Isn't the whole point of Map3D to be a link between esri and autodesk?
