''Failed to create the data source file'' ATTACH DATA SOURCE in map 2015

Currently working with MAP 2015, in a pc with 64 bits, microsoft office 64 bits.

In my pc ''the administrator from odbc data origin (32bits)'', in control panel , does have '' MS Access Database'' and the '' Driver Microsoft Access'' (*mdb) but the ODBC data origin (64 bits ) does not !

So I can't attach any Data source....

I have installed Microsoft access data base engine 2010 to try the '' string connection''

and it still not possible to attach data source.

Hi,

you can connect directly to odbc-like sources without adding a ODBC datasource to your system settings.

Just change in the MAPCONNECT-dialog the source type for your ODBC connection from type "ODBC" to "connection string" (hope it's the correct wording, I currently have only German version of Map 3D available) and use e.g. that connection string:

Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb, *.accdb)};Dbq=D:\WORK_noBAK\PROJECTS\TempOdbcAN01.mdb

or if you try to connect to an ACCDB file or to Excel or to SQLite or ... everything works then similar.

You can get info's about connection-strings from that source: http://www.connectionstrings.com/

The additional advantage with that workflow is that you don't have to fill your ODBC definitions on your workstation PLUS when you open the drawing with connectionstrings assigned it will also work on systems where the ODBC source is not defined.

I putted the String Connection that you wrote but it doesn't work : '' the name from the data source isn't traceable and there's no predefined driver'' .

Show me please the exact string that you used, because when you used mine (exactly) it would point to the wrong file (my access file and position).

What is interesting too is the version of MS-Office you are using and the access file version.

using the Office 365 and the access file is on .mdb
