HELP: super hatch tool to create custom parquet flooring - floor plan

Hi,

I have been having trouble with creating a custom hatch with the super hatch tool. I need to create parquet flooring where the rectangles are joined together with no gaps but I am struggling to understand what to do. I have created a block, as shown below, but I am unsure what corner to corner to select after inserting the block. Everything I am trying is causing there to be gaps between the pattern.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Also if anyone knows how to remove the red and green x and y axis that would be great haha.

Hi,

The idea is to find a common area that when copied or attached beside each other you will get your final shape.so the secret exist in the Magenta rectangle . 😉

Here is the Herringbone Parquet hatch pattern file (see attachment)

Place this .pat file in this location : C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD 20XX\R2XX\enu\support

And for the RED and GREEN x and y-axis, type in the command "VS" and then press "2" and enter.

Is this on my Mac desktop? Sorry I am new to all the software as you can probably tell.

Thank you for telling me how to get rid of the green and red axis line, I haven't had a clue for ages haha.

A real Hatch pattern is so infinitely easier to work with than SuperHatch that it's worth defining one, unless there's something about the pattern that isn't appropriate to the way Hatch patterns are defined. The attachment to Message 3 draws 1x5 tiles, but your image looks like a 1x6 ratio. If that's what you really want, try this:

*HB1x6, HerringBone of 1x6-ratio rectangles

0, 0,0, 1,1, 7,-5
90, 1,0, 1,-1, 7,-5

I find it much cleaner, in addition to being actually precise instead of rounded off, to define such a pattern in orthogonal terms, without all the decimal places, and if you want it at an angle such as 45°, give it one.

If you copy that into a file of its own, the file name must match the pattern name [HB1x6.pat, not case-sensitive, or you can change it to whatever you want], and it must end with a blank line, not with the last character of code.

I have followed the instructions to download it but an error message has come up when I try click 'herringbone 2' (which is the file I downloaded of yourself)

I have seen this numbers online earlier when I was trying to figure it out, where do I put the numbers in to create it? are those 'hatch codes'?

Go back to my previous message [edited since first posted]. Copy the code to a plain-text editor such as Notepad, include an Enter at the end so the end of the file is a blank line, and Save it to a file as described there, in a folder that is in your OPTIONS dialog box's Files tab Support File Search Path list [typically the one that ends in ...\support].
