Typing only working on Command Line

AutoCAD for Mac (2021 and 2022) having the same problem in different computers. It starts working properly, but sundlenly typing anywhere on the screen, or when in a command typing the dimensions, doesn't work and needs to click on the command line to input the typing. Even Escape stop to work and needs to go to the command line, click on it, and press Escape.

I don't know what is going on and it is not something that I could provide a screenshot because it's regarding typing. I am very experienced in AutoCAD (work with it since 2008 on PCs) and have never seen it before.

Hi @gilesNXQ3W ,

Do you use Dynamic Input? Or it is turned off.

Have you tried:

- restart AutoCAD

- restart your Mac

- reset AutoCAD?

Thanks for the answer, @maxim_k . I do use Dynamic Input, I will try to turn it off when I get to my computer. But Dynamic Input is really necessary for me. I can't imagine myself working without it.

You can try to reset AutoCAD, but in this case you will lose all your custom settings.

I think I'm having the same problem with Autocad LT for Mac 2021. Did you find a solution? See my screen recording.

It seams our problems are differents. The one I was having (and still) is because of Zoom. Whenever we write on the screen while in a Zoom call using it's pen (annotate option) the AutoCAD screen (or any other software you be working in) gets at it was in the background and in order to get control again you need to click on the screen.

If you have macOS Ventura on your mac, you need to install latest Update for Autocad LT for Mac 2021:

Regardless of the version, it has always been happening since I posted it.
But using Sonoma 14.5 and AutoCAD 2024.

Have you installed the latest Update to AutoCAD 2024 for Mac?

Do you use any third party window manager on Mac?

Do you use external (second) display with AutoCAD for Mac?
