Special characters on Mac

I'm using Mac Auto CAD and having trouble getting special characters to display.

I'm trying to use counterbore and depth symbols but just get square symbols (unrecognised symbol)

What do I need to do to get these to display properly?

Hi,

Symbols are not supported in vertical text .. Try to read this link that may help. >> Click <<

Unfortunately there wasn't any help on that page.
I'm using horizontal text - all the text displays except the special characters

Hi @devlinkieran ,

To display correctly special symbols in MTEXT, you need to use Arial Unicode MS font.

To insert special symbol - use this button in Text Editor Visor:

I'm working with AutoCAD 2025 for Mac, and when I click on the "@" button, nothing comes up. I don't know if this is a bug or if it's an issue with my computer. I tried reopening AutoCAD, but that didn't seem to change anything. Any thoughts?

I have the Sequoia 15.6.1 operating system on a MacBook Air with the M2 processor.

Yes. When I click the "@" button on the text edit pop-up, the dropdown menu opens, but when I click on the "other" button at the bottom of the menu, nothing comes up. My current workaround is installing the GDT font in the Font Book app, then copying the character into AutoCAD.

Do you have any app running on your Mac that replaces the standard input source switching function?

For example Keyboard Switcheroo

I asked about this because I decided to check if there is a problem with the Character Viewer launching with @->Other in AutoCAD

I tried it, and it didn't work for me either. Plus "Ctrl+Cmd+Spacebar" shortcut refused to open Character Viewer inside MTEXT command in AutoCAD.

Then I started to figure out what the problem was.

I disabled the Switcheroo application and turned on Input menu in the menu bar.

"Ctrl+Cmd+Spacebar" shortcut started to work inside AutoCAD and now I'm able to use @->Other inside MTEXT editor in AutoCAD.
