Is it me or is it not possible to cut / copy an object and then paste it back into the drawing as a block? a very handy tool

Hi chris,

This command (Paste as block) is not present in this version.

I use workaround: WBLOCK to file (at this point I can give a meaningful name block, instead of the awful A$C03366833). Then INSERT this file to the drawing.

(Possible to automate with AutoLISP. I'll try later)

That's ridiculous you can't copy and paste. That makes it so much more of a pain

agree. lot of smal easy things are just not implanted in the mac version. i hope they will come up soon with a sp1

very nice!!! i want it to put it in my right click menu, there where the other clipboard actions are.... where can i find this to edit

Hi,

theoretically it is possible to put this command to right-click context menu, I'll try to think about this. But I also want to say, that I have changed Paste_as_block.lsp (added corrections to allow "paste as a block" for block with attributes), so please, if you already downloaded it, redownload new version of Paste_as_block.lsp here.

Hi Maxim,

I have been following your recommends for solving these 'issues' which have worked beautifully - until now?

I have to load the Group Tools isp file and Paste As Block isp file each time I restart autocad, but now when I try to load them via the appload command, the program crashes and shuts down.

Have you had this problem too?

I have both updates installed incidentally.

Hi Mick,

Indeed - there is a bug in AutoCAD for Mac (even after latest update):

"AutoCAD crashes when you try to load two or more applications via APPLOAD dialog ("Add to history" check-mark should be ON). Here are steps to reproduce crash:
1. Start AutoCAD

2. Start APPLOAD command

3. In Appload dialog select two lisp files to load from some folder on disk, not from history list (select one, then Command-select second)

4. Enable "Add to history"

5. Click on Load button - AutoCAD crashes."

So to avoid this crash I can advice you to load routines separately (one by one) with "Add to history" checked. After you have populated "History list" in APPLOAD dialog, you can select multiple routines from this "History list" and load it without AotoCAD crashing.

Another way is to put necessary routines to "Startup Suite" in APPLOAD dialog.
